Web Services
Today, there is a blurred line between a "Website" and "Software" and the most logical place to put these are under the heading of "Web Services". This section will be used to cover some of those "services" that rightfully fall outside of the categories "Software" and "Websites".

LogMeIn is one of my
favorite Services that I have come across to date. Even though not
all of the features are free, they do have a "Free" version that gives
you full remote control of your remote PCs. It has no problems
transversing a corporate firewall, displaying content of a dual-monitor
system, allowing you to remotely work any Internet connected PC over the
web. The upgraded versions of LogMeIn add the abilities of file sharing between computers, interactive chat and whiteboard sessions for tutoring and supporting users, as well as other "Administrative" tasks. LogMeIn has a tiered pricing structure and is more affordable than most of its competition. |
| LinkedIn is a "Social Networking" site for professionals. It is a great way to track down former co-workers and get recommendations on companies you may be considering for employment. My profile can be found here. | |

Avvenu gives you a
direct route to your stuff on your computer, whether it's your music
collection, your photos, videos, or your documents. And that route is
open to friends too, whenever you choose to share your stuff. We’re here
to help you get to it wherever you are, and move it or share it with
anyone you want. Pricing is FREE during this BETA period, but expect this to become a paid service over time. |
